Cyashitsu (pronounced “Cha-Shitsu”) Ryokan Asakusa was designed by Keisuke Maeda and opened in the summer of 2019. This modern conceptual hotel occupies a narrow and unassuming building in the center of the Asakusa neighbourhood in Taito-ku, just a stone's throw from the renowned temple Senso-ji. Its concept is based on traditional Japanese culture and aesthetics, particularly those of tea ceremony, from which the hotel takes its name. The small rooms are comprised of low ceilings, wood frames, sliding doors, tatami flooring and rustic walls made of a modern take on tsuchikabe and wallpaper. The room featured here is the sixth-floor "Ofuro Suite_9-10m²," which as the name implies, occupies a space of just over ten square meters, creating a cozy atmosphere and also featuring a beautiful, quaint outdoor bath and garden on a terrace with a view of Tokyo Skytree.
