The German Embassy entrusted Sensu Studio with the creation of a video and brochure design showcasing the serene beauty of the embassy's residence garden in Japan.

Our vision was to subtly capture the garden's beauty across all four seasons while reflecting on the rich history of Germany's relationship with Japan. This project not only highlights the natural beauty of the garden but also serves as a symbol of cultural appreciation and diplomatic harmony between Germany and Japan.

For the video production, we aimed to evoke a calming, intimate, and purifying atmosphere. The result is a visual poem that celebrates traditional Japanese aesthetics, making viewers feel as if they are sitting on the engawa of a historic Japanese house, peacefully appreciating the garden. The brochure design complements this experience by providing detailed insights and stunning visuals that enhance the storytelling and visual journey.

Filming and photographing the garden presented unique challenges due to the need to capture it in various weather conditions. The lack of snow during winter and the brief blooming period of the sakura required precise timing and flexibility. Despite these challenges, our team at Sensu Studio ensured that the final product beautifully represented the garden throughout the seasons.
