Lejan is a Spanish footwear brand inspired by the Japanese approach to balance, nature and attention to detail. For the launch of its Sakura silhouette, Lejan developed a campaign inspired by the fleeting beauty of cherry blossom season in Japan. Rather than taking a conventional product-focused approach, the creative direction centered on textures, objects and carefully composed details, creating a series of quiet, atmospheric moments that reflect the brand's appreciation for balance, nature and simplicity.
Sensu Studio was brought on board to provide local production services in Japan, working alongside the international creative team to bring the campaign to life. With the initial inquiry received on September 4 and filming scheduled for September 17 and 18, the project required a particularly tight turnaround, leaving less than two weeks to organize the entire local production.
Sensu Studio managed the production from the ground up, sourcing and coordinating the local crew, casting models and liaising with talent agencies, arranging transportation and catering, and overseeing the various logistical requirements. A key part of pre-production was finding suitable locations that could capture the traditional Japanese atmosphere envisioned by the creative team while remaining practical within the project's budget and schedule.
Although Kyoto was initially considered, the limited preparation time and budget made it impractical. Sensu Studio instead researched and presented a selection of alternative locations, ultimately securing a traditional setting in Sawara, Chiba. Its historic streets and preserved architecture offered the desired atmosphere, away from the crowds of more established tourist destinations.
The finished campaign provided Lejan with a cohesive collection of photographic and video assets for the launch and promotion of its new Sakura silhouette. Through location scouting, local crew coordination and end-to-end production management, Sensu Studio helped translate the creative vision into a successful production in Japan.
