In recent years, the city of Maebashi in Gunma Prefecture has been flourishing, with new businesses revitalizing the city center. At the forefront of this transformation is Shiroiya Hotel, a reimagined traditional Japanese inn comprised of two buildings, designed by renowned architect Sou Fujimoto. The “Heritage Tower” features a dynamic, multi-level atrium of exposed concrete, whereas the “Green Tower” is inspired by the grassy banks of the old Tone River that flows through the city. The resulting complex is a strikingly modern and luxurious space where guests can immerse themselves in the intriguing world of art, surrounded by works by world-renowned creators including Sou Fujimoto and Leandro Erlich. The goal of these photos was to showcase the hotel’s elegant, modern design, as well as the uniquely inviting atmosphere.
