About us: Sensu Studio is a creative video and photography production company working with clients in Japan and internationally.

Established in 2022 by bilingual producer Hai Le and photographer Jeremy Hannigan, we create clear, reliable visual content ranging from promotional videos and documentaries to event coverage and still photography across Japan. Having lived in Tokyo for over 10 years, we combine deep local knowledge with international perspectives to produce authentic, culturally respectful content in both English and Japanese.

Our Services

1 - Planning

Our journey begins with a thorough consultation to understand your goals and vision. We focus on identifying your objectives and desired outcomes. From there, we detail the budget and logistics, ensuring clear alignment between your vision and our capabilities.

2 - Scripting + Storyboarding

Once the project direction is established, we dive into the scripting phase, crafting the storyline, dialogue, and overall narrative structure. This narrative blueprint then seamlessly transitions into creating a visually compelling storyboard to guide the project's visual and creative direction.

3 - Pre-Production

Equipped with the finalized script and storyboard, our team meticulously plans logistics such as location scouting, talent casting, equipment setup, and scheduling. This detailed preparation ensures efficient resource allocation to achieve your desired outcomes.

4 - Production

From capturing footage to coordinating actors and crew, every aspect is executed with meticulous attention to detail to maintain consistency and uphold quality standards throughout the production.

5 - Post-Production

Following the shoot, we enter the post-production phase, where we handle editing, color grading, visual effects, sound design and other enhancements to refine your content to its fullest potential. Once finalized, we optimize the deliverables for your distribution, across social media, website and other various channels, maximizing reach and impact in alignment with your objectives.

  • Jeremy Hannigan

    CO-FOUNDER + CREATIVE DIR. + PHOTOGRAPHER

    Driven by his passion for Japanese culture, Jeremy relocated to Tokyo in 2015 to pursue his creative endeavors. Since then, he has collaborated with notable clients including Adidas, Bose, CNN, the Kinki District Transport Bureau, and Pocari Sweat, bringing a unique perspective to every project.

  • Hai Le

    CO-FOUNDER + PRODUCER + DIRECTOR

    With a presence in Japan since 2014, Hai has dedicated nearly a decade to refining his media expertise and cultivating a deep passion for crafting narrative-driven content. His extensive experience includes collaborations with renowned clients such as Asics, Bulgari, Hugo Boss, NHK, On, Wella and Zara making him a trusted partner for your media production needs.

  • Iulia Puica

    SOMNIUMFILM DIRECTOR

    Iulia has been working as a director since 2013 and has experience working with international teams from Germany, Portugal, Japan, Romania and Moldova.​ From 2021 Iulia has been a  pre-selection jury at Izmit International Short Film Festival. Together with John, she operates as SomniumFilm, whom Sensu Studio frequently partners with.

  • John Donica

    SOMNIUMFILM CINEMATOGRAPHER + PRODUCER

    John has been working as a cinematographer on documentary and fiction films, music videos, narrative videos and commercials since 2013. His projects have been selected for many international film festivals, including IDFA, Vision du Reel, Montenegro, Busan ISFF, Cronograf, DocuArtFest, East Silver, BIFF and TIFF.
